Book launch

Postby museumtom on Tue Jun 09, 2009 4:09 pm

I just thought would let ye know that there is a book launch in the Marquee behind McCrays pub ( also known as the Crocodile)in Carnew, Wicklow on the 20th of June around 8pm. Not a re-enactment thing but if you are passing and fancy calling in you would be most welcome. The book is called 'The Wicklow War Dead' and covers all the casualties of ww1 and ww2 including airmen that crashed and are buried there and sailors that were washed up on Wicklow beaches etc. Glencree German cemetery is not covered due to language difficulties with archives etc.
Regards.
Tom.

These men must be remembered. I like to think that we now live in a more enlightened era and if I don't do this who will? Tipp, Wicklow and Wexford are now done. I will finish Offaly in about four weeks and then move on to Laoise with Jude Stynes
If they bring out a film version I'll see to it that you play all 840 leading parts, ya good thing!!

I appreciate the offer but from what I have learned at the last Salute in 2008 the German Cemetery in Glencree has already been done so I would have nothing to add.
Well done for offering though!! Thats what this living history is about, sharing knowledge.
Kind regards.
