Grenadier Regiment Koenig Friedrich Wilhelm III. 1914-18

Postby Malo on Fri Jun 05, 2009 9:53 am

Hi everyone,

Are you not getting bored by seeing so many british/irish regiments in the World War 1 re-enactment?

We have the solution!!

Templarcommander and myself are putting together a group re-enacting the Grenadier Regiment Koenig Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1st Silesian) No. 10, or in simpler terms the 10th German Infantry Regiment from 1914-18.

If anyone would like some further info or even join us just contact either templarcommander or myself or visit our website http://inf-regt-nr-10.page.tl (don't worry the website is not in German ;) )

The Kaiser needs you!!!

Thank you Kai(ser) ;-)

Yes indeed WW1 German needs an injection of personnel, so we put together this group, we have 5 at the moment. All ready for anyone who wants to "play".

Looking forward to building a strong group and getting stuck in. All volunteers and all help greatly appreciated.

See you all soon in the trenches.
Kindest Regards,
Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini Tuo da gloriam..

Hey Mock,

our regiment aswell as the leinsters took part in the christmas truce of 1914. that might be something nice to re-enact...a big booze up in no-man's land...with a football match...just watch that barry doesn't stand offside ;)

Id be happy to do Casements German Brigade for ye. They wore modified German uniforms - O.K. they spent most of the war on work duties but some of them including Maurice Meade did fight on the front for the Germans before coming back to Ireland to join the Irish Volunteers /I.R.A. in 1919. Meade even claims he met Kaiser Wilhiem at one stage. It would be an extra grey uniform on the field - even if the few Irish in the German army didnt see much action!

Could use some help here from the boards,, I have been trying to gather some info on a bayonette passed down to me. I have been told it is German (dress bayonette) etched in the blade is Friedrich Wilhem Konig. This bayonette fits on a k97 mauser (nazi marked mauser) would love to tie a story to the Bayonette. If anyone has any leads let me know. Thanks in advance..
