I would like to buy Cork

Postby redneckjedi on Mon Feb 16, 2009 1:56 am

No, I haven't won the lotto. I am looking for a place to buy cork for fashioning bottle stoppers. I have made them from leather in the past but they never did last long. Now I want cork bottle stoppers. Does anyone here know where I may find such a creature?

Thanks in advance....

"Of course I am. You ever try being mad *without* power? It's boring. Nobody listens to you."

I always get mine from wine bottles. My fiancé is drinking the wine and I use the cork ;)

Sparkling wine normally has quite big corks (unless you're unfortunate enough to get one with a plastic cork)

I've seen bags of cork stoppers in art shops.

Vibes and Scribes on the quay in Cork (hee hee!) definitely had some recently.

Back in my days as a body piercer, we had bags of small corks; used to pop over the business end of the needle once you got it through skin, to stop any unintentional piercing while you got the jewellery in

Used to get them from Wildcat in the UK, who I'm sure supply to private as well as trade... but they are maybe cheaper from whoever supplies chemists, labs, medical, etc?

And the famous Bengal Tiger, ever ready for a scrap,
And all his big battalions, Prussian Guards and grenadiers,
