Hi Nigel
there are two groups, my group is called the Minstrel Boys and is based at the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh N.Ireland, although we have members from both sides of the border with seven members in Dublin.

There is also the Pards, a group based in Cork.

Both portray Federal and Confederate units.

Hi Nigel,

We are a group of ACW re-enactors based in the republic. Our members are from Dublin, Cork, Wicklow, Wexford, and Offally and we have been going for the last 8 years. We run our own show in Cork each year and attend others throught the country. We were in the National Museum, Collins Bks, Dublin last weekend as part of the Soldiers and Chiefs ExIb. there.

As Hugh as told you The Ministral Boys are more northern based unit.

There is no reason for you not to try out both groups! I'm sure both would be happy to see you.

If anyone has ACW questions on sites in Missouri I can be a little help. We travel a bit and I can stop by and get pics etc from the sites. If anyone comes over here, we have a new museum opening this spring at Jefferson Barics. This was the largest Army base on the West side of the Mississippi till WWII. It happens to be about 15 minutes from my house.

Hi there,

Where are you based? I'm re-enacting the 4rd French Zouave Regiment from 1832-1915. The uniform is identical to the A-Comp of the 62 New York Volunteers.

I am based in Dublin. Let me know if you are interested.

cheers

Afraid I cannot offer any reenacting units that I know of in Ireland, but if you are interested I would be happy to post some suttlers I have found useful. I reenact the 1st Virginia Artillery out of Wisconsin in the United States. I have done Union as well.
I must say I'm happy to find people interested in my country's history in Ireland.
