Roman Calendar

Postby Leinsterman on Thu Sep 18, 2008 1:51 pm

How does the Roman Calendar work vis the Ide's of a month. I know the Ides of September is the 13th, and I'm talking a guess that the 5th of the Ides of September is the 18th - today. Is this correct?. Anyone got a good handle on this bit of the Roman Calendar?

Hi Cathal. Following your link it looks like 5th of the Ides of September could be 5th day before the Ides not after, i.e. 8th Sept not 18th, although it's not clear. ...Ooops! Wrong date guys!
