Bgs were recently approached by German film company to take part in a film aboutthe life of Rochus Mische , the only surviving member of the Hitler bunker , he was the radio operator and his character was briefly seen in Der Untegang / Downfall as he turned off the radio in the bunker when it was all going pearshaped at the end .
BGS and Die Grupp accepeted the invite to germany to film the film . The German embassy were extreemely in getting the necessary paper work and letters / permits for the group to travel and import the uniforms and kit required for the film . They could have done no more for us and our thanks to the german Ambassador for all his help . Having made the enquiries and backround checks on BGS wwe were received with flying colours and all stops pulled out for us .
The filming staged a massive opening display of the polish invasion , involving many many vehicles , motorcycle outfits , trucks , cars , horses , paks , armour , fantastic display. The famous border crossing was reenacted and all our men and die Gruppe had a time of their lives .
BGS and Die gruppe received noteworthy praise form the director on their standard of reenactment , approach , commitment and professionalism and that is why they will now discuss doing the normandy scenes in Ireland in the near future . Well done all and we will post more links . footage and photos soon as it comes in ,
here is a link to a clip made by Jaeher ( Ray) from Die Grupp who was in germany on the set of the new film , Witness , the life story of Rochus Mische . BGS and Die Gruppe were asked to come and take part in this and did so with great results .
Thanks Colm , RAy and lads for everything , yet again a great example of what can be done together ,
