cheap riveted mail shirt

Postby the_power on Fri Jul 04, 2008 3:10 pm

Hey guys. I've a fabulously wonderful mail shirt for sale. It's going cheap because it's too small for me...it would suit anyone a little smaller than me (42" chest) who doesn't want to wear a heavy aketon under it, or someone a lot smaller than me who would like to wear a light aketon!

It's flat ring, half 'solid flat' rings, half 'riveted'. It's super light at around 7kg, around half the usual for a mail shirt, and very strong, as it's riveted. Check out panda's coif, or check out the close-up pics at capapie.co.uk. It has elbow-long sleeves and full skirt. It's forge blackened, so is slightly rust resistant. People who have played with it go "oooh, mithril". Would suit someone doing viking or archery *perfectly*.

I'm throwing in a butted mail shirt too; all for €400. €300 if you don't need the sleeves/skirt (good for early period, including roman/celtic).

Just out of random interest: Any pictures of you wearing it? And some close-up pics of the solid/riveted rings (don't know which one to look at on the website.. ;) ) Are they wedge riveted or "round" riveted? How many mm thick are the links, and what inner diameter do they have?
Sorry, I just had to ask all these questions at once!

Or are they allready sold? ;)

Not gone yet, though plan was to bring it to Flags and see could I sell it to reenactors or maybe the Warpcon gamers.

I'm *really* liking its replacement; so light and fluffy. You forget you are wearing it.

John,

If it doesn't sell at Flags, would you consider a poor Scot with shoulders in need of relief [twenty-seven years of armour abuse]?
