The Battle of Mortimer's Cross (Sept 17th & 18th)

Postby The Re-Enactor on Tue Mar 29, 2011 5:20 pm

Hi All

This year sees the 550th anniversary of The Battle of Mortimer's Cross (C1461) over the weekend of September 17th & 18th.
It is being held at Leominster, Near Hereford in Herefordshire on a large flat piece of ground with plenty of space for battle, archery, black powder, living history encampment, traders row, plastic campsite and all the usual suspects.

If anyone is interested in attending the event (groups or traders) please get in contact with me via email: jason.okeefe@btopenworld.com

Check out the website for more details: www.mortimerscross.co.uk

looks like an interesting gig to end off the season...might be back to you on this
In terms of the transport from this side of the water which is most likely to be the best route? Dublin-Holyhead and down or Rosslare-(port in south wales?) and up?

Best route? Hmmmmmmmmmm

Rosslare only goes into Pembrokeshire ports (I believe) and would then be a 3-4 hour drive to Leominster.
Holyhead to leominster drive would be longer by the looks of it (maybe an hour)
So really depends which is best port at your end

Jason

Would be great if you could get over, let me know
