For those of you with Military vehicles

I emailed a guy in Holland about running My DAF YA126 on kerosene and he sent me the following reply. Its also relevant to those with old vehicles.

Lead additive is not necessary.
When the YA126 was developped in the early 1950's, there was no leaded
petrol. Leaded petrol became available during the 1960's, when the
compression of the engines increased.

The engine of the YA126 is developped in the 1940's. It is a low
compression engine. It can run on low octane fuel.

We use unleaded Euro 95 petrol in our trucks since it was cheaper as
leaded petrol (+/- 1992). All our trucks (YA126, YA314, YA328, YK616) and
Nekaf Jeeps run well on it. We never used lead additive.
Only the 66YA needs euro 98 petrol (but this vehicle is build in 1974 !)."
