armistice day 09

Postby mock on Mon Nov 09, 2009 11:18 am

on behalf of the monasterevan historical society
i would like to thank the members of lord edwards own who organised a great war display
to mark the 11th of november, and to commemorate the 35 men from the parish of monasterevan
who died in the first world war, it was the first type of commemoration held in the town and was well supported by the
large numbers of people who attended, i would like to thank especially the enniscorthy reenactment group who turned
out splendidly as our german kameraden, and the original german himself kai, dave levins for supplying a wonderful display of
cap badges of all the irish regiments, jude stynes for making sure everyone got a hot bowl of stew and last but not least the kilkenny foxes take a bow lads you were brilliant.
regards mock.
