Good news from the "Kingdom"...
"The valley of Knockanure", a film based on an incident during the War of Independence in Kerry, has been shortlisted to go on to compete in Europe. Emmet and his lads from the MMVRG played the part of the RIC and Black and Tans, and having watched the "rushes" pre production I can only say that it definitely pays off to use dedicated re enactors as opposed to unmotivated stand in extras. Ger is a determined focussed director and dedicated to his chosen profession and I think the lads gave a great input.
So well done Emmet and Co, and to the other groups(BGS-Irelands nazis, Khaki and green-Frongach, etc) who have gotten into this sphere taking quality re enactment to the wider public.

Fair play - pics look great and I'm sure what's on the rushes is even better!! Always good to see another film concerning Irish military history doing the rounds. Look forward to seeing the finished product!

Well done job Lads, you look like the real thing...and isn't that our goal?
