MHS: National Launch of Heritage Week 2009, Kilkenny Castle

Postby Swifty on Fri Aug 28, 2009 4:00 am

To mark the national launch of Heritage Week 2009 - and taking into account Kilkenny's fourth centenary commemoration of the granting of its charter proclaiming its status as a city this year, Montague Heritage Services put on a display of military and civilian life spanning the period from c.1500 to 1650. On a more down-to-earth note we were blessed in that the rain staved off til just before we'd finished packing...

Swiffty,

Once again, you guys look great. The images are also wonderful (who's your photographer?) You lads always do things right and I wish I could do an event with you some day. I'm saving my pennies to come back to Ireland, and I'd love to coordinate the time to do an event. I don't think I could get my swords and a caliver on as overhead luggage, could I get a loaner?

Thanks Finn - glad you like the images. Jess de Búrca was the photographer at this event - the pictures are all the better considering the camera lens had a crack in it! Yeah it would be good if you could come over some time and a loan of a bit of hardware would never be a problem. Maybe we should do an exchange programme with you...
