Slightly OT; drink!

Hey guys. Http://californiawineimports.ie is now bringing in Rabbit's Foot & Red Branch stuff from California. It's the best mead in the world, as far as I'm concerned. He also has a line of DELIGHTFUL cysers (they are honey & apple juice ciders). Unlike most alcopops like druids and kopperberg, they are made with real fruit & honey. Unlike some meads I could mention, they don't add honey *after* fermentation. It's done properly.

* Red Branch Apple and Honey Cider (12-500ml bottles) 60 euro
* Red Branch Hard Black Cherry Cider (12-500ml bottles) 60 euro
* Red Branch Hard Peach Cider (12-500ml bottles) 60 euro
* Red Branch Honey Red Braggot (12-500ml bottles) 60 euro

I think their 12-bottle cases of sweet mead are 230 euro, and dry is cheaper, maybe 190 euro. Just get your off licence to order it in from them.

I'm not sure if you can get this brand, but I tried a bottle of this a couple of months ago and loved it! I polished off the bottle before my wife even got a chance to try it!

Last week I found a bottle of Bunratty Mead at my liquor store. Augh! I thought that I liked it from a previous visit to Ireland a number of years ago, but much too spicey for me.

I have many friends who make their own. Some is better than others. Not being a beer person (I much prefer the hard stuff), it takes something really tasty to get my attention in the way of mead. Maybe I can start a collection of some our local meads and cordials. Perhaps little samples? Maybe a care package can find it's way overseas?

Maybe.
