4th July Fundraiser

Postby speirs on Sun Jul 05, 2009 10:43 am

Members of the Connaught Rangers and Wargroup were asked to supporta unraiseing event in dublin on at 4th July. the Theme was a $th of July Garden party.

We were asked to provide a couple of members to give a talk on the War of independence and to do a military display from that period and from WW2.

The Fundraiser was for a group called wells for Sophie set up by Margaret Trudeau and her daughter-in-law Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau their mission is to to bring clean drinking water to some of the world's most impoverished people in Ethiopia, with the help of the Watercan organization. They raise money to help build wells in Ethiopia.

The Day was a great success with lots of funds raised. All of us had a great time there. heres a couple of photos

Well done, Colm, a worthy cause. Recognise a few red(coated) faces there and the location looks very appropriate.

Yes it was a great day out, events like this help to remind me whats good about re-enacting.

go out display gear, pass on a bit of knowledge and have fun.

thats what everone should be doing in re-enacting.
