heritage officers

Postby tommyargue on Thu Jun 25, 2009 9:59 am

I've been trying to contact my local heritage officer for the past 2 months with no luck at all. I've left several messages and they have not returned ay of them. I was just wondering what exactly do heritage officers do?

Usually they look after everything from heritage to the environment. Day to day they look after violations of planning and preservation orders, co-ordinate heritage and environmental plans with the co. council lead and launch educational and tourism schemes.

Busy people

My advice

1). Put it in writing...old fashioned headed note paper requiring acknowledgement and responce

and/ or

2). Talk to your local Councillor or local historian to set up a meeting.

They won't reply to "messages" think official :(

Depends, depends! Maybe there is not a full time heritage officer and someone is filling in! Word of advice, have you emailed them? I would post a letter and explain what you want! Dont get councillors involved, it pisses people off!! Believe me I know!
