Hey I was wondering if there were any of ye who had any early music as mp3 files or cds, I'm always on the lookout for more music, multi period, mainly secular, not too keen on religious music but not completely against it entirely. Interested in anything before the true onset of the early modern period circa pre 1650 ie the death od monteverdi and the birth of bach and vivaldi. Would anyone be interested in sharing music files at all, for personal enjoyment and for possible use at events and music that will be utterly time and period specific for each event. I have some 60- 70 early music cds and the majority of that is on mp3 format, to the equivalent of7gb-8gb, perhaps more, and very willing to share with people.
Some of the periods/cds I have are:
Greek and roman music from classical papyrus fragments, recreationist roman music.
10th century harp and song from the rhineland
several 11th - 16th century collections, norman, troubadour, trouvere, minnesingers,
Carmina burana, songs of the montpellier codex, the Cantigas de Santa Maria, music of the crusades- military and pilgrimage, the travels of marco polo- ( dance music from the time of boccacios Decameron, c. 1320-50, byzantine chant, girl songs of cyprus, arabic dances, mongolian melody, chinese ceremonial music etc)
Elizabethan music and songs
