1st of August...
On this day in 10 BC, Tiberius Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus or Claudius I, Emperor of Rome AD 41-54 was born. He built Rome's harbor at Ostia and conquered parts of England and Thrace (now the Balkins).
On this day in 126 AD Publius Helvius Pertinax, Emperor of Rome for less than one year in 193 AD, was born. Pertinax was a loyal friend of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius, and succeded Aurelius' son Commodus after his murder by the Praetorian Guard (Spit on the ground and stamp on it...) Unfortunately, Pertinax was a decent man and tried to restore Roman values, but this was unpopular and was murdered himself less than a year later, again by the Praetorian Guard (Even bigger spit on the ground and stamp on it with both feet...) His head was cut off and paraded on a spear through Rome
