Making a book shrine, I have the back about done. Would like to have any comments and would this fit 1000 A.D. time period.

I will try to post a better photo in a few days. I am useing copper then covering with silver leaf and fake gold leaf. The enamel was the hardest part for me first time I tried enameling.

Looks great. What group are you with? You are kinda far from me but still in a neighbouring state. I would love to see some more of your work.

I with the Irish Living History Society of Central Ohio, our time period 9th to early 11th century. Most of the group are in Columbus, Ohio I am about 45 miles North of Columbus.

Billy, posted photo on Photo gallery. Working on sides have a couple of panels done but have to make some castings, so I have to build a furnace to metal the metal and learn how to cast no problem

Emm that looks like it could be earlier.

Later metal work had more amber with vikings importing it.

And more glass... they liked glass (even in the earlier centuries of monastic metalwork)

But the amount of enamel work you have one it , is impressive, but more signiture of earlier works around the eight century. But the book shrines we have found are generally later than that.

The front will have a cross with some amber and glass or gems if I can find some. This shrine is for our abbey so being from eight century will be aright, I read that the Irish sealed their shrines
