Scabbard and Sheaths from Viking and Medieval Dublin, Esther Cameron, 2007, Dublin.

Frustratingly (but typically I think) neither the NMI or the RIA have advertised the fact that it's been published. It isn't listed with the others on the RIA shop website, the NMI shop doesn't HAVE a website, it's not on Amazon or Oxbow Books. My copy arrived from the National Museum or Ireland's shop shopks@museum.ie a couple of weeks ago. They said that the book on the weapons is due out at the end of the year but expected publication dates haven't been very reliable to date so I'm not holding my breath.

Excellent book. Thoroughly recommend it.

They dont even have it on sale in the Museum (or at least they didnt last time I looked).

At least its in print. I must get myself a copy so I am not relying on Anglo Saxon finds as my reference!

They sent my copy on or about the 8th of April. Took about a week to get here by airmail.

I was using the York leather book until then.

I contacted the RIA and they told me that they are not the publisher - which might explain part of the mystery

NMI are listed as the publisher but RIA have all the other books listed on their shop website. Unlike the NMI shop, the RIA shop at least HAS a website (she says grumpily). I'm sure they have other books I REALLY want but there's no way to find out apart from querying them on individual titles.
