I'm organising a Lace Seminar event as part of The Pan Celtic Festival, Dingle, Co. Kerry on 29th and 30th April 2011. We'll have a small exhibition of different kinds of Lace, and demonstrations as well. I'm posting updates here http://woollyway.blogspot.com/2011/03/story-of-irish-lace-exhibition-seminar.html. The 40th International Pan Celtic Festival presents a Festival Seminar - The Story of Lace

A Celebration of the History and Beauty of Irish Lace, in An Díseart, Sráid an Doirín, An Daingean, Co. Chiarraí

The Seminar - Friday 29th April 2011
Time: 2pm-5pm Admission Free
- Talks on the History of Clones Lace with Máire Treanor and Kenmare Lace with Nora Finnegan, two of Irelands finest lace-makers.
- A viewing of Irish Lace from *Hands*, a documentary series made for RTE in the 1970’s and 1980’s, on the final years of traditional rural and urban life in Ireland. Director Daniel Shaw-Smith will be present, and he will be selling the Hands TV series, newly released on DVD.
- Award winning members of Traditional Lace-makers of Ireland will be giving demonstrations on different types of Lace-making
- Book Launch: Celebrating the revising and republishing of 2 books, Clones Lace by Máire Treanor
and Youghal Lace by Catherine Clancy. Both authors will be present, and signed copies will be for sale.

The Workshop - Saturday 30th April 2011
3 hr workshop: Morning 10am – 1pm or Afternoon 2.30pm – 5.30pm
• Irish Crochet Lace with Máire Treanor
• Kenmare Lace with Nora Finnegan
Cost: €40 (€20 non-refundable deposit to book your place). Limited spaces of 12 available for each workshop. Basic sewing and crochet skills required for the workshop.
