moon .... last time i was in waterford ...well only a few month's ago ...and my O my ..has it changed a lot and for the better ....
Anyway I expect the law's are different in Ireland as they are here in the Uk ...regarding weapon's re-enactors are allowed to use ...not sure would have to look that up ...
Here in the uk re-enactors have to be members of ..." a living history re-enactment group " ....and carry third party public Liability Insurance ...not to advertise ..on here my group is not the only group who supply the above ..i know of other's here in the uk ..
I dont know a lot about the vikings and or that period in history ...as we do Old west / native americian mainly ...ah but I do know a good place one can start ...and your sure to get help and advise there .....The sealed Knot ...they got a web site here in the uk ....have a look-a-see there ..
http://www.thesealedknot.org.uk/I do hope you get any help you need ..ther ...and I wish you and all your members the best of Irish Luck my friend ..

Glenribbeen wrote:Hi Michael - hello to you - I see you're from a 'small town in Waterford' - I'm from Dundalk (de Town) but moved to Glenribbeen - a townland between Lismore and Cappoquin NW of Dungarvan.
I've always been interested in history and especially the archery side of things. I've managed to learn and acquitted myself well at my first (and only) All Ireland ITFAS Archery Champs - but was laid low by a carcrash. Things are getting better and now I've joined the Waterford Vikings to learn sword-craft and to take part in their re-enactments. As Waterford finally embraces it's Viking history I can only see good things to come.
I hope to specialise in archery - I've an English war/long bow and 5 copies of medieval arrows and one very real broadhead. I give talks/demonstrations at heritage days and folkfestivals, historical-themed weekends as they are just beginning to take off now in Ireland. Any help/advice you have to give will be most welcome.
Greetings from Vaderfjord.
