Claire, there are a few groups reenacting that era....not good at remembering names at this time of the evening

Bannerman has written a book on the war of independence in clare in the era you are interested in - he would be a good one to talk to on the subject; he has also put up some posts elsewhere on this forum regarding kit/equipment during that era

Hello Claire, Failte go dti an site!

The Khaki and Green re-enact both sides of the war of independence, Black and Tans, R.I.C. and other British forces as well as Irish Volunteers, I.C.A and I.R.A. Volunteers from 1919-21. We have been doing War of Independence re-enactment since 2004. There are one or two female members of who already do Cumann Na M-Bann, and from time to time we have even had a few Citizen Army women turn up! Generally we dont do Civil war - except for documentary and film work.

Im rushing out the door now for new years so cant go into further detail. But if you would like to find out more or meet some members of the group feel free to send me an e-mail at padraigoruairc@gmail.com

Thats it for now.
Blian Ur Maith!!!
