Salvete Omnes!

I've just added some more new galleries to the website:

The Temple of Artemis (Temple of Diana) ... http://www.romansireland.ie/romanarmy/temple_art.htm This was one of the most famous temples in the ancient world. As you can see it's in a sorry state today :(

Ephesus ... http://www.romansireland.ie/romanarmy/ephesus_main.htm Ephesus was one of the most important administrative centres in the Roman east. One thing you notice when you go there is the lack of Latin inscriptions, the vast majority of the inscriptions on monuments, grave stele and buildings are in Greek. Roman or not, the language in use at Ephesus seems very much to have been Greek and not Latin

I just don't have the time to write descriptions for every picture but if there's one you're interested in let me know and I'll tell you what it is.

Once again, these pictures are free to use by anybody but, please remember to quote the source ;)
