I thought this a good topic for my 100th post, so....
1, A fascination since childhood for the knight in shining armour.
2, A long held wish to study a martial art that had some relevance to me.
3, The pleasure in an almost endless voyage of discovery, both by myself in my chosen field of interest, and of others in theirs.
4, The level of trust and depth of friendship developed between people who swing swords (or their chosen weapon) at each other.
5, The easy comradeship to be found with others with the same or related interests.
6, The light in the eyes of people when I share my passion with folk at either gigs or in schools.

8, The generosity shown by others At a gig and forgot your helmet? one will be found. Accidentally came as a viking for a crusader event, no problem get yourself over to our tent we'll sort you out. What no sword? can't have that, here take my old one I don't use it anymore...No your grand buy me a pint or two.
These kind of things happen at every gig, Sometimes I have been the recipient, sometimes I have been the donor. But at all time I am proud to be counted one of you
