Hello and welcome to the Mogh Roith forum. Mogh Roith are based in East County Clare, County Limerick and Limerick City. We investigate and display life on the island of Ireland from the Mesolithic through to the 16th Century. (Norman period is on the back burner but still simmering)

Our major focus and latest group development is becoming the resident Living History group at the Craggaunowen Project (Shannon Heritage), where we get to do our thing in an Iron Age domestic setting and get to do bigger stuff that we don't have to take home and cram into our sheds. ;)
In our first month in we have started to develop the Iron Age garden there digging beds and building an Ard style plough and established a compost heap. We start planting this weekend (last week of April 08). We have lots to do at Craggaunowen and have lots we can do at Craggaunowen. We plan to give the replica dwellings there a more lived in look while developing the display and hand skills of the resident tour guides. We hope to engage in some experimental archaeology projects soon. Example: We are investigating the possibility the existence of 'Sadufs' in an Irish context after something that looks like one seems to have been found in the N7 extension digs only recently.

We don't do a whole lot combat these days but may return to small display work time and interest permitting.

We are open to new members.
